\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]For more than 60 years, Fuerte Hotels has participated in\u00a0responsible tourism<\/a><\/strong>, which allows us to coexist in harmony with the environment as well as our cultural and socio-economic surroundings.<\/p>\n

All of our hotels have adopted sustainability as their guiding principle and incorporate new management systems that ensure a minimal impact on the environment and promote the local culture and economy. We also focus on people\u2019s wellbeing, including that of our clients, our employees and even people not connected with our hotels who are in need and at risk.<\/p>\n

Fuerte Hoteles<\/a>\u00a0has, at\u00a0FITUR<\/strong>\u00a02016, become a signatory to the\u00a0WTO\u2019s Global Code of Ethics for Tourism<\/a>, as well as the\u00a0Spanish Network of the United Nations\u2019 Global Compact,<\/a>\u00a0both fundamental frameworks of reference for responsible and sustainable tourism, based on a set of ethical principles covering human rights, labour laws, the environment and the fight against corruption, in line with the\u00a0Sustainable Development Objectives<\/a>\u00a0(SDO).<\/p>\n

Fuerte Hoteles subsequently participated in a project coordinated by both organisations \u2013 the\u00a0Spanish Global Compact Network<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0World Tourism Organization<\/a>\u00a0entitled\u00a0Responsible tourism, everybody\u2019s commitment<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0along with other Spanish entities. This project highlighted the role played by tourism companies in achieving the SDOs, and developing corporate social responsibility practices. On the 19th of September 2019, a site was launched with an\u00a0e-publication<\/a>,\u00a0video testimonials<\/a>\u00a0and a compilation of\u00a0best practices<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another example of our commitment to the environment is our partnership with the\u00a0Glaucal de la Nava Association for its Spanish fir conservation project in Sierra de las Nieves<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
